Larry is not a "tuner" Larry is a Racecar Engineer.

The whole supercharger project (HOBBY?) is entirely mis-understood. Think of it this way: Aside from the guru it was/is a personal set-up that Larry decided to share with the public as with any other custome set-up anybody else would show off. He basically built himself a killer supercharger for his civic this was back in like end of 1996-1997(?) As the import hottrodders became more popular he said what the heck I might as well share my creation with everybody but I want it to be *perfected* before I mass produce it to the public. Even I tried to milk any more info (other than on his webpage) about the supercharger and he just got pissed off?? He said that ENDYN's lawyers (whatever lame excuse) would not let him expose some of the more advanced features about the supercharger. Has anyone (besides his personal friends) seen his flying eye, or membrane intercooler?? For God's sake it's not a fucking time machine? He won't tell anybody any details about his revolutionary boost controller but a smart kid like ZIP built one from scratch??? Back in 99 he played a joke (Testing the waters) on us to see our reactions about a projected sale price and led us to belive that ATOMIC racing was getting ready to sell units and are taking pre-orders? What happened? I know that he cannot use the Eaton blower because it's exclusive to Jackson Racing, I know he could not convince Bear to make the rotors at any reasonable price/time frame, I also heard his revolutionary boost controller had problems. So what now? What has he got to offer us besides his knowledge?? I figure by the time he actually finish his any supercharger kit to the public many people will be looking for newer cars that won't accept it. What is even more interesting is the Autorotor supercharger that can be had with a intercooler that works better than any Eaton roots blower. All it needs is a similar boost controller to zips setup with built-in traction control and can we say Bye bye ENDYN!!

Peyomp, Look at this post. I posted the full details about the new Rimmer supercharger that is almost ready(the d16 civic unit is already for sale) for sale!!! Then go to the old one's BBS and do a search for autorotor. What was Larry's reaction about the new twin screw supercharger??? He was shocked that is was coming out and sort of jealous. He said that I do not believe anyone could sell it for a reasonable price and that was all. He also mentioned that it is a true compressor unlike the Eaton roots blower and it should make more power at the same boost level because it does not heat the intake charge as much as the Eaton unit. So what does this mean; It has waaaaay more potential than the Eaton blower(even modified by ENDYN) + it's intercooled = more boost with lower temps = more power = faster than any Eaton blown setup(without NOS). If you want to go all out Drag racing you have a choice of using a larger discplacement autorotor; larger than the M62. Unless Eaton builds M90 that can spin backwards Autorotor wins. The only setback is CARB pending. Just wait a couple of month's and you will see a interesting new supercherger in effect.
Just for good sakes check out this website also. Lysholm Prelude

M62 JRSC's make that much power non intercooled at 6psi, and certainly at 8psi which is what that system runs at. I'm not impressed. We're talking about 210 (rimmer) vs. 400 hp here (Endyn)...

Sheepdog:
I knew Larry's company because he was working on a SC and was posting some very informative information on a board that was archived on a website. I began reading his posts before his site. I also knew him as a professional as he gave me advice on things aside from the SC. None of his advice id me wrong or made me unhappy. Your point about his SC giving him glory for this or that might be true for most of the readers of the board right now but the simple fact is, most people are learning from him, not waiting for his SC (although I would like to see it). I had no idea how much Larry's car was making or that it was 1.6L so your point doesn't make sense to me at all. Maybe this how you found out about Larry but not me.
90Teg:
First off, you seem awefully bitter that you're not getting information that some of us are. You have the "fuck him because he's not sharing" attitude and I'm glad you won't know more than you do. With attitudes like that you won't get far in life. If he can't or won't share something, it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. ZIP is a nice guy and very smart but you can't compare the setup Larry has with what ZIPs working on because 1) zips isn't working to perfection and 2) Larry's has never been looked over in detail. So this is sort of a wash but your attempt at comparing a smart home mechanic/mechanical engineer with a professional who's been doing this for years shows just how little you know. You also failed to mention that Larry praised the twin screw SC a long ass time ago but also said that someone had the exclusive rights to produce those SCs. It has nothing to do with him being unable to create a twin screw SC but the fact that he's unable to by copy right or patent laws. The rimmer setup still has to prove itself in the real world so I wouldn't give it more credit than you do Larry's setup. have you drive one? Did you dyno one? Huh? No? Oh.
I just think that Larry is a busy individual who's capable of many things that we'll never see because he's got little patients for idiots. Unfortunately there's lots of those in the import scene amoung the few diamonds who truly do wonderful things. Say what you might about him but you guys are the one's sounding bitter or jealous because some old smart guy didn't give you enough attention.
This board is going downhill just as fast as the Endyn board IMHO. That's pretty sad. I remember at one time all of us participated and shared info on the upcoming tweaks and mods we did on our cars and now it's come to a stop. The boards dwindled to so few that all I have are crickets nowdays. Maybe aside from bashing the old guy, you should offer something useful to the board smartasses? Lots of talk, very little worth listening to coming out of your cake hole.

Ok Sil you win I don't know shit about ENDYN or Larry and I am bitter. Too bad he felt sorry for you when you blew up your teg and he aske YOU to send your blown motor to him. Too bad you missed an opportunity to have Endyn under your hood. Oh I forgot you sold it(along with all the OG members) and said you moved on to a better ride with more power?? 11psi GSR is the only person to come out of the closet with his full ENDYN setup and I agree it is impressive and I wish I could have an opportunity to get the same or even better setup. To bad he is not able to fully tune it to it's max potential so I can say WOOOW ain't that some dope shit. I thinks I have said enough to get things out of hand maybe I should sit back and keep the typing to myself and watch all the suckers get burnt. By the way I never meant that anything he said never existed, in fact I've seen some stuff that he probably would not show you. I just don't understand the man, one day he's contempt the next he is an ahole, so what gives???

This last part isn't true. I don't think any other kit out there would make Endyn's kit go bye bye if it were to ever come out... and I don't think it will.
Endyn's blower was supposed to have carbon fiber rotors. It was supposed to be variable displacement (whatever that means in a blower). Try finding that in any other roots kit out there for any car... you can't. Add that to Endyn's pistons, and cylinder heads... and theres no comparison.
All this talk about the blower doesn't really matter. The web board wasn't about the blower. It says so in the FAQ. The web board is about educating the automotive community.

I dunno; the problem I see is that Larry decided he wanted to get involved with the import racing scene, such as it is, after he saw how uninformed and misdirected all these poor bastards with big exhaust pipes are, and now he's apparently really surprised that most of the young guys with hondas don't know squat about head design, quench area, combustion engineering, or any of the stuff that his full-budget racing team customers take for granted. I know the guy knows a hell of a lot more about engine building than the rest of us, but I don't understand why he gets so pissed if someone else doesn't understand or asks a question that's been asked before. On a bbs like these, all you have to do is ignore stupid questions or delete them and they go away. If you feel like you have to make inflammatory remarks, it brings the subject right back up to the top and makes a controversy instead of a conversation.

Actually the 400HP from a 1.6L is on larrys website. The B16A one.
I wasn't saying that he doesnt know his stuff, but the point was thats how most people heard of him was from his prototype SC.
I read through most of his stuff, he is right on most of the times, but when you disagree with him, he starts bashing you, and others will bash you like robots, ohh larry is bashing, lets bash that freak too.
I've seen him encourage people to bash on people when he does not agree with what others are saying at his website. You probably know what i am talking about.

He only bashes people when they don't follow the rules of the forum. You have to remember that the main forum (ask T.O.O.) is set up for HIM to have a platform to educate enthusiasts. All the rest (member supported forums) are just to take the crap messages off HIS forum. Add this to the fact that he's older and web boards aren't second nature to him, and I think his behavior is both easily understandable and justifiable.
